This kRti forms part of dance-drama ‘prahlAda bhakti vijayam’. In this kRti SrI tyAgarAja depicts the yearning of prahlAda.
3 – SRngArinci – This means ‘bedecking the Lord’. If it means ‘bedecking one self’, it should be ‘SRgArincukoni’. As per the dialogue preceding this kRti, prahlAda yearns to bedeck the Lord. It has accordingly been adopted here.
4 – ArAdhintu – Generally, ‘ArAdhana’ means ‘reverence’. However, in the present context, in conjunction with ‘cEri’ (being united), this connotes the bhAva (mood) of kAntAsakti – worshipping the Lord, as a wife unto husband. The whole kRti is in that mood.
