and telling them that (anucu) ' now (mari) the time (kAlamu) has come (Ayenu) (kAlamAyenanucu) for abatement (uDugu) of your (mI) uproar (kOlAhalamulu) (kOlAhalamuluDugu)',
the Lord of Death is worried.

vAridhi SOshimpa jEyu krUra kumbhajuni rIti
ghOra naraka-Adula-aNacu tAraka nAmamunu talaci (cintistu)

In the same manner (rItI) as the ferocious (krUra) sage agastya – one born of pitcher (kumbhajuni) – who dried up (SOshimpa jEyu) the ocean (vAridhi),
thinking (talaci) of the name (nAmamunu) 'rAma' – carrier across the Ocean of Worldly Existence (tAraka) - which subdues (aNacu) even the terrible (ghOra) hell (naraka) etc. (Adula) (narakAdulaNacu),
the Lord of Death is worried.

dAri teliya lEka tiruguvAralu-aina cAlunu-aNTE
sAramu-ani tyAgarAju sankIrtanamu pADEru-anucu (cintistu)

If (aNTE) there are at least (aina) those who wander about (tiruguvAralu) (tiruguvAralaina) without (lEka) knowing (teliya) the path (dAri) (of salvation) it is enough (cAlunu) (cAlunaNTE) (so that he could lay hand on them),
taking note (anucu) that they also are singing (pADEru) (pADEranucu) the compositions (sankIrtanamu) of tyAgarAja (tyAgarAju) considering them to be (ani) the essence (sAramu) (sAramani) (of tAraka nAma),
the Lord of Death is worried.
