Notes

Variations - (Pathanthara)
1 – telusukoNTi – nE telusukoNTi.

4 – kumAruNDu – kumaruNDu : 'kumAruNDu’ is the correct word.

7 – dAnamosagu vADu – It is given as ‘vADa’ in all the books. However, as given in other caraNas, the appropriate word would be ‘vADu’. Also, ‘vADa’ is normally addressing (calling) form.

3 – kaDa tErcina vADu – the following statement of Lord nRsiMha to prahlAda (SrImad bhAgavataM, book 7, Chapter 10) is relevant –

triH-saptabhiH pitA pUtaH pitRbhiH saha tE(a)nagha |
yat sAdhO(a)sya gRhE jAtO bhavAnvai kula pAvanaH || 18 ||

"My dear Prahlada, O most pure, O great saintly person, your father has been purified, along with twenty-one forefathers in your family. Because you were born in this family, the entire dynasty has been purified."

5 – antariksha kESa – vyOmakESa – one of the names of Lord Siva. It is also the name of Mother lalitA tripurasundari – Please refer to lalitA sahasra nAmaM (942).
