O Lord (ayyA)! In the same manner (rItini) (rItinayyA) as finding (doruku) a float (teppa) when (vELa) hands (ceyyi) are weary (alasina) (ceyyalasina),
You came (amaritivi) into my (nA) possession (pAliTiga) (literally share) (pAliTagamaritivi). But (kAni),
O Lord SrI rAma! I shall not leave hold of You until You protect me.

ADa pOyina tIrthamu-eduraina rIti
IDu jODu lEni ishTuDavu-aitivi (nannu)
In the same manner (rIti) as the holy waters (tIrthamu), one set out (pOyina) to take dip (ADa)in, appeared before (eduraina) (thIrthameduraina) him,
You have become (aitivi) the peerless (IDu jODu lEni) God of my liking (ishTuDavu) (ishTuDavaitivi).
O Lord SrI rAma! I shall not leave hold of You until You protect me.

siggu pOvu vELa cIralu-abbina rItini-
oggi mA-iNTiki vaccitivi kAni (nannu)
In the same manner (rItini) as draupadi got (abbina) sarees (cIralu) (cIralabbina) when she was about (vELa) to lose (pOvu) her honour (siggu) (literally shame),
You readily (oggi) (rItinoggi) came (vaccitivi) to our (mA) house (iNTiki) (mAyiNTiki). But (kAni),
O Lord SrI rAma! I shall not leave hold of You until You protect me.

tyAgarAja nuta talaci-unnAnu rAma (nannu)
I have considered (talaci unnAnu) (literally thought) (talaciyunnAnu) You (nIvu) to be (ani) (nIvani) the true purport (arthamu) of vEdas (nigama cayamu) (cayArthamu) and SAstras (Agama);
O Lord praised (nuta) by this tyAgarAja! O Lord rAma! O Lord SrI rAma! I shall not leave hold of You until You protect me.
