Meaning - Gist
O Lord rAma!
Have you forgotten the words spoken by You in my young age?

Showing favour on every occasion, You told me ‘why do You hesitate? this fortune is Yours’.
While You were watching the nice dance of the damsels, beholding Your holy feet, I worshipped You melting in my heart; at that time, halting the chowrie in the hand of bharata You told with compassion that tyAgarAja is indeed blessed (Or ‘Look at the blessed tyAgarAja’).
Have you fogotten those words?

Comments
1 - nATi – This word, in conjunction with 'cinna' in pallavi would be translated as 'young age'. However, when joining anupallavi and caraNa, this word 'nATi' would be translated as 'that day'.

2mannana jEyucu – 'mannana' has the meanings 'respect', 'regard', 'grace', 'favour' etc. As the context is not clear, it has been translated as 'favour' in view of the ensuing word 'jEyucu'.

3tyAgarAja varaduDu – In the books, this has been translated as 'I shall grant boons to tyAgarAja'. Normally 'varduDu' is applied to the Lord as 'bestower of boons'. Though from the context, the meaning derived in the books seems to be appropriate, as these words are uttered by SrI rAma, 'tyAgarAja varaduDu' should refer to Himself.

General – What SrI tyAgarAja is describing in this kRti, being a very personal experience, cannot be adequately explained by anyone else; readers are requested to draw their own conclusions. As stated above, this being a personal experience of SrI tyAgarAja, if others feel that the translation is not upto to the mark, kindly pardon me.
