O Lord praised by this tyAgarAja!
You are the excellent one among crores of Gods.

Great sages proclaim that (a) among numerous heroes You are the One who would not retreat; (b) You are not the One who speaks two words; and (c) You are the One who rules crores of Universes.

Therefore, what kind of musings are You doing?
There is none to counter You.
It is not appropriate to slip on one's promise.

1yOcana – In some books this has been translated as 'hesitation'. This Telugu word and the same Tamil word 'yOsanai', though colloquially used to mean 'hesitation', the actual meaning is 'deliberation' 'reflection' etc.

2reNDu mATalu ADu – go back on one’s word. Please also refer to kRti 'oka mATa' rAga hari kAmbhOji, wherein SrI tyAgarAja praises Lord rAma as one who is true to his word.
