O bRhannAyaki (bRhat-nAyaki) (name of Mother at tanjAvUr) whose feet (caraNA) are extolled (sannuta) by brahmA – seated (Asana) in lotus (sarasija) (sarasijAsana) and vishNu – Consort (dhava) of lakshmI (mA) (mAdhava)!
O Mother! Am I not the one who trusted You for showing compassion quickly (vEgamE)? Why this much indifference?

I (nEnu) trusted (nammitini) You (ninnu) much (nera) that (ani) You (nIvu) (nIvani) are the Goddess (mUrtivi) (literally form) who protects (avana) humble (dIna) people (jana) (janAvana).
O Enjoyer (vinOdini) of music (gAna)! O Mother whose tresses (vENi) are dark like (nibha) rain-cloud (ghana)! O Bestower of fruits (phaladA) of wishes (kAmita)! This indeed (idE) is the opportune moment (samayamu) (samayamidE).
O Mother! Am I not the one who trusted You for showing compassion? Why this much indifference?
Notes
Variations - (Pathanthara)
1 – nammina vADu – nammina vADanu.
2 – hEmApAngi – hEmapAngi : In the present context, ‘hEmApAngi’ (hEma apAngi) is the appropriate form.
3 - paritApamulanu – paritApamilanu (paritApamu ilanu).
4 - pariharincina nIvu – This is how it is given in all the books. The meaning derived in the books is ‘take away my miseries’. However, the form of the word ‘pariharincina’ does not seem to be appropriate for such a meaning. In the present form, it means that Mother has already done so. Therefore, in my opinion, it should be ‘pariharincu nIvu’ – wherein ‘nIvu’ will be joined to pallavi. Alternatively, it should ‘pariharinci nIvu’ – wherein both words will be joined to pallavi.
