O Reliever (hAriNi) of distress (tApa) of my (mama) heart (hRdaya)! O Mother abiding in the temple (AlayE) of precious stones (nava ratna) (ratnAlayE)! O dEvi who is pleased (muditE) with the blessed (vara) sage (tApasa) nArada!
O SrI pArvati, worshipped by vishNu and other chieftains! Please protect me, O dEvi!

O Ever Youthful (taruNi) whose feet (caraNE) are soft (mRdu) like shoots (pallava) of creeper (latA)! O Mother who has Sun (tapana) and Moon (vidhu) as Eyes (vilOcanE)! O Mother whose body (SarIrE) is splendorous (kAnti yuta) like (sama) (literally equal) millions (kOTi) of pre-dawn Suns (aruNa)! O Moon (kalApE) like beautiful Mother sporting (dhRta) digit of moon (kala)!
O Mother adorned with shining (lasat) precious stone studded (maNi) (lasan-maNi) necklace (hArE) in the beautiful (surucira) neck (maNi kaNTha) (literally larynx or Adam’s Apple)! O Virtuous by nature (suguNa-SIlE)! Please always (satatam) gladly (samudam) protect (ava) this wretch (dInam) compassionately (karuNayA), O Supreme (para) Goddess (dEvatE)! O Mother lalitA (lalitE), abiding (gatE) in kAma kOTi pITha (literally seat)!
O SrI pArvati, worshipped by vishNu and other chieftains! Please protect me, O dEvi!
