O Mother whose body (SarIrE) is splendorous (kAnti yuta) like (sama) (literally equal) millions (kOTi) of pre-dawn Suns (aruNa)! O Moon (kalApE) like beautiful Mother sporting (dhRta) digit of moon (kala)!
O Mother adorned with shining (lasat) precious stone studded (maNi) (lasan-maNi) necklace (hArE) in the beautiful (surucira) neck (maNi kaNTha) (literally larynx or Adam’s Apple)! O Virtuous by nature (suguNa-SIlE)! Please always (satatam) gladly (samudam) protect (ava) this wretch (dInam) compassionately (karuNayA), O Supreme (para) Goddess (dEvatE)!
